Hearty congratulations are extended to two younger Stags who have already enjoyed preseason success.

Many Gordon supporters will be aware of the outstanding performances enjoyed by Cooper Williams. From Lismore, Cooper has played for the Stags as a country Greenie for the past two seasons, as well as rewriting batting records on the north coast.

Last season as an U16 Stags Green Shield player, Cooper was chosen in the NSW Country team for the Australian U17 Championships and was joined by fellow Stags Greenies Sean Twining and Charlie Chippendale. At the end of the Championships,  Cooper’s outstanding performances were rewarded with his selection in the Australian U17 Merit team.

Cooper has also recently been awarded a Basil Sellers Scholarship, along with other young outstanding male and female NSW players, to acknowledge his playing success and to provide sponsorship support in a number of areas for the 2026/27 season.

Much more of Cooper will seen locally this season as he has recently relocated to Newington College to complete his secondary school studies.

Congratulations are also extended to Stags Green Shield player, Lee Holmberg on his outstanding performances at the recent Australian Indoor Championships, held in Victoria. Playing in the U14 Division, Lee captained NSW and his on court success led to selection in the Australian U14 team to play in the World Championships, which will be held in South Africa at the end of September.
