The Stags have officially unveiled our revamped coaching structure for the upcoming 2026/27 NSW Premier Cricket campaign, headlined by the appointment of Dan Miles as the club’s new Head Coach.
Miles, who originally hails from England and played 1st and 2nd Grade cricket for Fairfield-Liverpool, brings a decade of extensive club and private coaching experience to Chatswood Oval. Most recently serving as Club Coach at Lindfield, Miles takes the reins with a mandate to drive performance and tactical sharp-mindedness across all senior grades.
Strengthening the Pathway Pipeline
In a strategic move to align player progression, Paul McLean will take charge of the 1st Grade side while simultaneously managing the Poidevin-Gray Shield (U21) squad. This dual role aims to build a seamless transition for top youth talent breaking into top-tier grade cricket.
At the junior representative level, Connor Hindmarch and Matt Nicholson return to lead the A W Green Shield (U16) program following strong developmental performances in past seasons.
Senior & Specialist Support
The core coaching setup during main squad sessions will feature experienced mentors Terry Howes and Julian Stephenson.
To complement general sessions, the Stags have also locked in dedicated specialist coaches for targeted small-group skill sessions throughout the season:
- Batting Coach: Ash Squires
- Fast Bowling Coach: Matt Nicholson
- Wicketkeeping Coach: Mark Atkinson
With a refreshed coaching panel blending new leadership and specialized technical support, Gordon enters the 2026/27 summer aiming for high-impact results across all grades.
