Stags players and supporters have had a huge weekend. On Saturday our First Grade team recovered from a mauling by Sydney Sixers batsman Justin Avendano, who belted 171 runs from just 122 balls to set up the bears for a mammoth total of 364. Taj Brar (117) and Dylan Hunter (139) both scored maiden First Grade centuries to set up a tense finish with Matt Wright hitting the winning boundary in the last over. This incredible achievement is the highest successful run chase in NSW Premier Cricket first grade limited overs competition.

Backing up on Sunday our First Grade team played Round 1 of the Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup competition against St George at Hurstville Oval, in a game featuring Test cricketer Kurtis Paterson and covered by Kayo Sports. The Stags set a competitive total of 4-157 and got off to a great start dismissing last year’s O’Rielly medalist, Nick Stapleton and Kurtis Patterson in the first 3 overs. We then faced an onslaught by Blake Macdonald who hit six maximums on his way to an unbeaten 92 off only 46 balls to take his team to victory.
