It is hard to imaging this prestigious event has now been going for 10 years with the first event being held on February 12, 2011. Vince Sorrenti, Paul Gow and Stuart MacGill were the guests on that momentous occasion. A donation from the events taking was given to the Queensland flood victims. How quickly we forget!
The new Killara Golf course is getting rave reviews from the members and was singled out by Ian Baker-Finch and Peter Senior for special mention after they played there on the opening day late last year. All of the greens and tees have been re-designed plus two new holes, (the fourth and fifth) being added to the course. The total area of the new greens is now three times the size of the original greens as well as many of the fairways being widened to allow for better growth.
The event this year will be the same as previous years with the opportunity to secure a “hole sponsorship” to give you advertising exposure on the golf course and in the auction booklet and the best seats in the house for dinner. Otherwise you can get a group together for golf and dinner or just come along for the dinner. Single bookings are also most welcome and we will find you either a group for golf or a table for dinner. Past players are encouraged to get some of the playing mates together and get a group together.
Our charity this year is again the Chappell Foundation which is a wonderful initiative started by Greg Chappell. The Chappell Foundation raises funds to give to those who provide refuge, nourishment and a better future for thousands of young Australians without a roof over their heads each night.
