Congratulations to our first grade captain Tym Crawford, who has jointly won the O’Reilly Medal awarded to the Best and Fairest Player in the first grade competition. Points are awarded by the umpires officiating at each match of the regular season. Tym shared the award with Manly off-spinner Bertie Foreman.
Tym was the competition’s leading batsman with 1,207 runs at an average of 67.06. He scored 5 centuries and 3 half-centuries during the season including a highest score of 205 not out in Round 8 against Penrith. The umpires judged him the Player of the Match on 4 occasions during the season.
Tym joins Mason Crane, Elliot Richtor, Charlie Stobo, Harry Evans, Marshall Rosen and Dick Guy as the Gordon players to have previously won the O’Reilly Medal.
