Trystan Kennedy has been offered and accepted a position with Old Owens CC playing in the Hertfordshire Premier League for the English season starting in April this year. Trystan has scored two centuries in second grade this season and recently made his first grade debut.
Old Owens CC 1st XI Captain Brad Lane put out a message to Owenians and Stags about the move.
“ We could not be more excited to welcome Trystan to the Owens family here in the UK this summer. As a club we have created a truly professional environment whilst keeping the core family club values that we can’t wait for T to enjoy and become a big part of this year. T will be playing a starring role in the highly competitive ECB Hertfordshire Premiership for our 1st XI right at the top of the order in our hunt for the league title.
First of all we cannot wait to get to know Trystan off the field and second of all it’s a great opportunity for the guys here to learn from such a talent. We’re looking forward to him bringing all the Gordon trade secrets to our side of the world! T will be going toe to toe with everything from ex-pros and county players to your experienced dibbly dobbler who swings the red Duke both ways and has a million wickets. I am positive that the experience T will get on the field with us is going to put him in really strong stead for when he gets back on home turf.
T will become fully engrossed with all things junior cricket here at the club, as well as helping get our adult teams in tip top shape for weekend matches. You will all be able to watch T lead the line for us on our Live Stream during the UK summer and we look forward to having some new fans in the form of Stags this year. You’ve already got the Owenian supporters group cheering you guys on!
Strive with a will” Stags and go well for the rest of your season!”
This should be a great opportunity for Trystan to develop his game. On behalf of our players and supporters, the club wish him all the best.
