The Brewer Shield Competition is an Under-18 women’s competition run as part of the Women’s NSW Premier Cricket competition. It is designed to bridge the gap between junior representative cricket and senior grade cricket.
The Brewer Shield is played over the Sydney cricket season (October to March), with clubs playing a regular season followed by finals to determine the premier. The competition is highly competitive, with many players already representing NSW at junior level.
The competition is intended to:
- Develop the best female cricketers aged under 18.
- Prepare players for First Grade women’s cricket.
- Provide a pathway to higher honours, including:
- NSW Breakers
- Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder WBBL squads
- Australian Under-19 teams.
