We now have confirmed dates for the start of the season. 1st and 2nd grade will start on Saturday November 6, while 3rds, 4ths and 5ths will start on Saturday November 13. We are yet to have season dates for Metropolitan Cup (Colts).
The season format has also been confirmed by the Sydney Cricket Association. 1st and 2nd grade will be a 15 round competition, while other grades will have a 14 round competition. All grades will be predominately one-day games (1st grade will have 4 two-day games, and other grades will have 2 two-day games), but finals will be played as two-day games.
PGs will be a 5 round T20 competition (plus finals as 50 over games), played on same days as the 1st grade Kingsgrove T20 competition. The Green Shield format will be same as normal (7 one-day games plus finals).
The draw for all competitions is expected to be published shortly. The Kingsgrove T20 Cup and PGs will be played over 5 consecutive Sundays from November 14.
Pre-season practice is still very difficult to plan because we cannot make ground bookings until the 80% state vaccination threshold is met. In the meantime we are allowed to practice in groups of up to 20, so please do everything you can to get some practice in. As a club we will endeavour to run some practice sessions this weekend and next week, ahead of the formal recommencement of community sport expected on October 25. Please keep an eye on TeamApp for details of practice.
With such a long wait, the start of the season is now coming fast. There is obviously a lot to do in the weeks ahead, both for players, coaches and volunteers. Lets get cracking and start the season with a bang.
