The Poidevin-Gray Shield, or PG’s as it is more commonly known, comprises teams who represent their NSW Premier Cricket clubs in an Under 21 competition. It is one of the highest standard U21 grade cricket competitions in the world. Gordon have performed strongly in this competition over the past decade, highlighted by a Joint-Premiership in the 2020-21 season, with the final washed out by rain. The team has been managed by Rob Carruthers over the past few seasons and was coached by one of our great fast bowlers, James Kennedy, in the 2021-22 season.
Unlike the Green Shield competition, no squad is selected at the start of the season. Players under the age of 21 who are playing grade cricket for Gordon, or who are included in our ‘Country Pathways’ program are eligible for selection each round.
